Liberal Cities, or Black Cities?

Posted by Guest Blogger on Sunday, 14 August 2005 17:34.

I was watching Tucker Carlson the other day, and he brought up this story that states that the most liberal city in America is Detroit, MI followed by Gary, IN, and Berkeley California.  The most Conservative city is Provo, UT followed by Lubbock and Abeline, TX.

The center that did the study did not tell their research methods, and the results make me question them.  I doubt that either Detroit or Gary are particularly liberal in the traditional sense.  There is not great interest in gay-rights, environmentalism, or anti-war activities.  Rather they are simply two of the blackest cities in the country, and so they vote the most democratic.

In fact the press release from the Bay Area Voting Research Center who did the study stated,

The list of America’s most liberal cities reads like a who’s who of prominent African American communities. Gary, Washington D.C., Newark, Flint, Cleveland, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Birmingham have long had prominent black populations. While most black voters have consistently supported Democrats since the 1960s, it is the white liberals that have slowly withered away over the decades, leaving African Americans as the sole standard bearers for the left.

A short history of Australia: How it was won and lost

Posted by Guest Blogger on Saturday, 13 August 2005 07:40.

I received the following from an Australian reader signing himself as John Moffat.  The original Moffat was a remarkable man, a founding spirit of the Australian north.  Indeed, he was known to his contemporaries as “The Wonder of the North”.  With gratitude to both Moffats I’m pleased to post this piece.  It encapsulates all that drives us to reject the course laid out by our elites, and to reach out to all those like ourselves seeking the survival of the West.
GW

It was a shimmering dream – a dream that was for a short time realized, and then tragically allowed to fade:  a continent for a people and a people for a continent.

In one of history’s brighter moments, the British Empire, the greatest ever known and wearing the zenith of Western civilization like a crown, cast a far flung outpost into the deeper reaches of the Pacific – an eighteenth century equivalent to a colony on the Moon.

The only previous human habitation comprised scattered bands of nomadic hunter-gatherers numbering around 300,000 in total with only the barest minimum of social organization.  The descendants of these people claim as their most impressive achievement a 40,000 year long ‘occupation’.  That indeed is a long period for time to stand still.

Whites quickly went to work taming a most inhospitable and unforgiving land.  In less than a human life span, these convicts, soldiers, free settlers, administrators and adventurers had transplanted the civilization of their former homelands so successfully it was a perfect outgrowth.  Not more than a century since the first fleet of tall ships glided into what was to become known as Sydney Harbour, the country was enjoying close to the highest standard of living in the world.  It had become in fact ‘the working man’s paradise’.  The term, ‘the lucky country’, originally coined by a bitter cynic, seemed to fit so well it came to be innocently accepted as well meant.  Luck, gold and sudden fortunes however formed a miniscule part of the story.  The remainder was written in sweat, blood, grief, despair and unconquerable spirit.

Are West Indians Exceptional?

Posted by Guest Blogger on Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:25.

Without exception, whenever I bring up genetics as an explanation for black failings, I get the response about how the experience of West Indians immigrants proves otherwise.  Allegedly, the slave culture of the West Indians was different from that of the American South.  The theory goes that there were so many slaves and so few white people that the slaves were forced to set up their own economies.  Therefore, this makes their culture value education, hard work, and other skills necessary to succeed in a market economy.

Thomas Sowell made this argument in the 1970s and early 1980s using 1970 census data and it has been parroted by conservatives, most notably Dinesh D’Souza and David Horowitz ever since.  Some have even claimed that West Indians are even more successful than whites.

My response was that I would be skeptical of the data supporting that, and if it were true, my guess would be that it is because the initial wave of West Indian immigrants was very high quality, but this would deteriorate once they start sponsoring their 2nd cousins.

An Introduction

Posted by Guest Blogger on Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:18.

This is my first post on majority rights.  I am a young journalist, and I’m still involved with the conservative movement, though I find it completely worthless.  But because, I do write for some mainstream outlets and what I will say could give me the Kevin Lamb/Sam Francis treatment, I am using a pseudonym.

Sclerotic quote of the day

Posted by Guessedworker on Sunday, 07 August 2005 09:18.

“Italy faces the most serious demographic crisis of all the EU economies.  By 2050, according to the United Nations, more than a third of Italians will be 65 or over, roughly double the current proportion.  Increased longevity and the recent collapse in Italian fertility are the prime culprits.

Cherish those memories of Italy as a country of narcissistic young Lotharios, buxom mamas and multitudes of bambini.  The Italy of the future is an old folks’ home.”

Niall Ferguson, writing on Italy and the Euro in today’s Sunday Telegraph.

Some might consider the looming demographic disaster also to have been brought on by unfettered individualism, feminism and loss of faith, and that it somewhat outweighs in importance economism and the fate of the Euro.  Ferguson might also, in fairness to Italians, have noted with a little less complacency that Italy will be only the first of the nations of Europe to sink slowly beneath the Western horizon.  Unless proper feminine values are re-asserted in very short order (but how?) we shall all fade quietly away.

And those we import to care for us in our dotage shall have no complaints.

Three cheers for the person Rabinder Singh sat opposite on the train

Posted by Guessedworker on Saturday, 06 August 2005 10:10.

Today’s Guardian carries a piece by a QC practising at the highly activist Matrix chambers.  He is a British Sikh named Rabinder Singh, and he is affecting the pain of rejection because someone on his train journey to work yesterday got up and walked away from him:-

... you were already sitting there in the seat opposite. Your eyes were closed. You must have been tired. Then you opened your eyes and you saw me. You got up and moved to the next carriage. Perhaps you wanted some privacy or did not want to disturb me with a mobile phone call. Or perhaps you were afraid of me ...

The rest of the piece is the usual plaint of how the immigrant is so badly misunderstood, and very weak it is.  Singh tells us he lives among white people.  He eats Italian food as well as Indian.  He is not a religious fanatic.  He has been “formed” by Shakespeare, John Locke, Tom Paine (Tom Paine!  Bloody hell, no wonder he’s one of the Matrix culture warriors).  He is British ... British through and through ... British, I tell you!

Well, he’s waving around an already devalued currency - and the more he does it, the cheaper it will get.  Britishness has plainly had its day.  It was rejected by the Scots and Wesh long, long ago.  I know Mr Paisley still clings to it - all those bowler hats, black umbrellas and Union Jacks.  But the English have it in their power, if they so wish, to respond to the assimilationist thrust by falling back upon their true national identity.  They may dispense with this worthless notion of Britishness and reject the new assimilationism and Mr Singh with it.

A letter to David Davis on the occasion of his conversion to assimilationism

Posted by Guessedworker on Thursday, 04 August 2005 01:14.

David Davis, the front-runner and bookies’ favourite to succeed Michael Howard as leader of the Conservative Party, has declared himself a liberal where it matters in “modern” Britain.

Now, I’m no longer a member of Mr Davis’ Party.  Well, obviously they wouldn’t want me!  So, I don’t have any kind of say in electing Howard’s successor.  If I did, sadly, I would probably vote for Davis.  But golly, I would like him to understand at least something about the philosophy of his own Party and of the opposition, as well as something – anything - about the land and the people he would lead.

So, I’ve written a quick draft letter to the man.  You never know, he might have a mental impasse, a fast-forward, while dutifully googling for Minority Rights, and wind up here.  Hi there … read on.
